Pardew Praised By West Ham Star

West Ham goalkeeper Darren Randolph has praised Palace boss Alan Pardew ahead of the London derby this weekend.

Randolph was on of Pardew’s players back in his Charlton days and the Republic of Ireland international is looking forward to catching up with his old boss this weekend.

At the time when I was at Charlton, I was second choice as we had Scott Carson on loan from Liverpool but he couldn’t play at Anfield and Pards gave me my debut at Anfield in a 2-2 draw,” Randolph said.

Pardew has led Crystal Palace to fourth in the league so far this season and if Palace can keep up their outstanding form for the rest of the season they will be up there fighting for a place in Europe.

Randolph is unlikely to feature on Saturday when West Ham visit Selhurst Park, as Adrian is first choice ‘keeper, but he speaks of his former boss highly, especially when asked about his Charlton days.

It was fun and he is a big character. It will be good to see him again on Saturday. He is a good man manager and his confidence rubs off on the players, especially when you are doing well and he gets the players to believe in themselves more.

A win against West Ham could see the Eagles draw level with table toppers Manchester City.
