Striker set for January exit

Striker Patrick Bamford, who is currently on loan at Crystal Palace from Premier League champions Chelsea, looks set to end his spell at Selhurst Park in January, and head back to the Championship.

The 22-year-old has not started a Premier League game for Palace, and has only been brought off the bench five times for a total of around 105 minutes worth of top-flight action.

He has started two League Cup ties, but was substituted in both, meaning he is yet to play a full game for the Eagles since his arrival in the summer.

Therefore, it is little surprise that he is being linked with a loan move back to Middlesborough by Richard Cawley of the South London Press.

Bamford scored 19 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions for the North East side last season, and led them to the Championship Playoff Final, where they were eventually beaten by Norwich City.
