Crystal Palace facing injury crisis

Crystal Palace are facing an injury crisis on the eve of their Boxing Day clash with Bournemouth, according to the South London Press.

The South London side are set to travel to the Vitality Stadium this Saturday to face an in-form Cherries side without a number of key figures.

Mile Jedinak, Dwight Gayle and Yohan Cabaye all missed the 2-1 win against Stoke at the Britannia Stadium and now Connor Wickham has been added to the list of injury concerns after being hauled off on the hour mark, on the day he scored his first goal for the club from the penalty spot, to fire the Eagles into a 1-0 lead.

Marouane Chamakh is set to make his first Premier League start since May in Wickham’s absence, whilst Joe Ledley should keep his place in central midfield alongside James McArthur.

The injury frustration has also forced Alan Pardew to recall Sullay Kaikai from Shrewsbury. The academy starlet has received rave reviews at the New Meadow, netting 5 goals in 17 appearances and was awarded the PFA Player of the Month back in October.

The 20-year-old will be looking to force his way into the match-day squad this Saturday and could well make his Premier league debut against Bournemouth.

matchday.
