Pardew: A draw with Swansea would be a good result for us

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew had admitted that a draw against Swansea City on Saturday would be a good result for his side as they look to halt a run of five straight defeats in the Premier League.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Pardew is keen to get off the 31 point mark that they’ve been stuck on since the end of 2015 and says earning even a single point would be a good way to kick-start his side’s season.

I think even a draw would be a good result for us at the moment, just to get us off this points total we are stuck on and get us mentally in a better place.

Ironically, the last time Palace earned a point in the league was the home tie against the Swans in late December, and despite some successes in the cup, their season has come to a halt since.

The Eagles lost to Bournemouth in their last fixture, although Pardew says he was quite happy with the performance and that he thinks his side were slightly unlucky to come away from the fixture empty handed.

We more than deserved a draw against Bournemouth but it wasn’t to come. The level of performance was good, we didn’t do a lot wrong in the game. I would have liked to have a bit more panache on the ball, a bit more composure at times, but we haven’t won in the league for a while and I think that showed. We had a little bit of edginess in our play and we have talked about that and getting it out of our system. You have to be up for the fight and this team is always up for a fight, but you need to play as well and we probably got the balance a little wrong the other night.
