Adebayor: FA Cup win would top any other achievements in my career

Emmanuel Adebayor says winning the FA Cup at Crystal Palace would surpass anything he achieved whilst at Arsenal, Tottenham, and Manchester City.

According to the Telegraph, Adebayor is focused on helping Palace win the competition after being booed at The Emirates on Sunday in the 1-1 draw.

The striker never managed to lift any silverware whilst at Arsenal but did score 46 league goals in 104 appearances in his four-year stay at the club.

Adebayor said:

I have to be happy about where I came from and what I have become – I have to forget about all the haters. All the Arsenal fans boo me and, when I look back, I understand where everything went wrong. But there are certain things in life you cannot come back to anymore, you just look at it and say: ‘OK, I made a mistake.’ We all do things at some stage of our lives that we are not supposed to do but the most important thing is to keep moving.

Palace are set for a day at Wembley as they face off against Watford as they hope to book a place in the final of the competition to face either Manchester United or Everton.

The former Arsenal striker added:

It would be one of the best moments in my career. I did not play in the FA Cup final for Arsenal, Manchester City or Tottenham. For me it would be my best moment in England.

A place in the final would largely make up for what has been a poor season for the Eagles after a long run without a win brought fears of relegation to the club. However, recent form has turned around their luck and their Premier League status for the season.
