Alan Pardew has confirmed to members of the local press that Loic Remy has picked up an injury, just a week after the joining the club on loan from Chelsea.
The summer signing picked up an injury in training on Monday at Crystal Palace’s Beckenham training ground, with the club expected to learn the extent of the injury today when the results of a scan come back.
The Frenchman was out of favour at Stamford Bridge and had fallen down the pecking order following the £33m arrival of Michy Batshuayi from Marseille and it was decided that a loan move would be good move for the striker.

“Unfortunately, Loic got injured on Monday and the seriousness of that, I don’t know,” Pardew said.
“But he’s not going to be involved this weekend, so it’s a bit of a blow. But you have to remember he hasn’t had a lot of football so he’s going pick up strains and knocks until we harden him up a little bit.
“He’s just got a little thigh strain. I don’t know how long he’s out for, but he’s had a scan on Tuesday morning and I’ll know more on Thursday.”
