Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni has told the Croydon Advertiser that he hopes to stay at the club in a coaching role once his career ends but insisted that he still has plenty to offer as a player.
The 37-year-old is out of contract in the summer and as the current third choice option behind Steve Mandanda and Wayne Hennessey, it’s likely that he’d have to move on if he does want to play regularly.
He had played 388 times for the club, which is tied with John Jackson as the most ever for the club and he’ll be hopefully of playing once more in order to break the all-time appearance record.

Asked what he’d like to do post-career, Speroni said he hopes to become a coach but insisted that he wants to carry on playing for a few more years and hopes he’ll get the chance to stay with the Eagles.
He said:
Eventually I will probably go into coaching, whether it is here or somewhere else. I have played at this club and I would love to stay here for all my career and beyond. But I am not thinking about that as I am still thinking very much as a player. I feel that I still have got years ahead of me, so I am not worried about that right now.
