Selhurst Park fell silent for a minute in remembrance for the seven people who tragically lost their lives on Wednesday 11th November in a tram crash by Sandilands tram stop.
A minute’s applause was also held in both the 19th and 57th minute for two Palace fans (Dane Chinnery & Philip Seary) who died during the accident in which a tram was travelling at three and a half times the speed it should have been doing as it approached a bend at Sandilands junction.
The club, the players, the coaching staff and also the visitors Manchester City have donated to the Croydon Tram Crash Appeal which is raising money for those affected by the accident which has brought the Croydon community together.
Displays and banners were seen before and during the match, as well as the front of the matchday programme being dedicated to the victims of the disaster that injured 51 people and killed seven.
