Alan Pardew has said that was frustrated after Saturday’s defeat to Manchester City, after a message sent with Chung-Yong Lee from the bench failed to make it onto the pitch in time, before a crucial goal.
The 28-year-old replaced Christian Benteke in the second half, shortly before Yaya Toure’s second goal of the afternoon which gave the visitors the win after what was a tight affair.

Benteke had been marking Toure on set-pieces throughout the game and at that point, had him under control but after being replaced the South Korean international failed to give instructions to markers which were in the area.
Speaking about the error which has been deemed as ‘not acceptable’ by Pardew, the Palace boss which is under pressure said, whilst speaking to the Daily Mail:
“The message with what one of our players needed to do, didn’t come from one of the substitutes to him. And that is not acceptable to me.

“We will have to make sure that the next time they out there they wear a t-shirt with the message on it, or something. That is a little bit frustrating, if I’m honest.
“And more than frustrating at the end of the game, when you are finding out why that didn’t happen. Having said all of that my players are pretty diligent on those sorts of things, and it is an unusual mistake for us.”
