Out-on-loan midfielder Jonny Williams has been sidelined for at least three months with a shoulder injury, after falling heavily on his arm during Ipswich’s win against Wigan on Saturday.
The 23-year-old joined the Tractor Boys at the end of August and has featured on eight occasions, with his most recent appearance against Wigan being the only game in which he has started in, on this current spell at Ipswich.
Williams could miss Wales’ World Cup qualifier against the Republic of Ireland on 24th March – he was last called up by Chris Coleman to the Welsh squad in November and featured on the bench against Serbia.

“We are looking at around 12 weeks before he is back playing again, without any setbacks,” Ipswich physio Matt Byard said.
“There was significant cartilage damage and a small fracture and the shoulder joint was completely unstable.”
The midfielder is on loan at Ipswich until the end of the season, a club where he has been loaned to on what his now his third spell at the club, following loans in 2013/14 and 2014/15. Williams has also had loan spells at Nottingham Forest and MK Dons.
