Browett believes Palace have the quality to turn it around

Steve Browett believes that Crystal Palace can turn things around in the final couple of months of the season, looking at the quality of the players that are in the current squad.

The former co-chairman, now Palace shareholder, believes that the team that the Eagles have at the moment is one of the best he has seen which gives him the belief that Palace can survive the relegation battle this season.

Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser, Steve Browett admitted: “It has been bad, and I think at Bournemouth we all felt we finally turned that corner, because that was a good result and good performance.

“There have many times where Palace haven’t got the results, but the thing I can’t understand is that we’ve got some pretty good players and just things just haven’t been working out for us.

“We beat Bournemouth but then the game against Sunderland was back down to depression again for the fans. I am sure we can turn it around, I can’t see a reason why we can’t, we have some really good players.”

Throughout the run of poor form this season, the fans have remained behind the team, no matter how frustrated they may be over certain players or wholes performances. Browett however believes that if the fans get behind them on Saturday, a bit of luck will go the Eagles’ way.

“I think if the crowd get behind them on Saturday against Middlesbrough and we get a bit of luck for a change, it just needs something to go our way, whether that’s a goal going in off someone’s backside or the referee giving us something,” he continued by saying.

“I just think the confidence will come back then. This team is good enough but we need to win some home games pretty soon.

“I think this team is the best we’ve ever had. All the time I’ve been watching this club, we have not had current internationals for top countries and the quality of player that we’ve got.

“Obviously, the Premier League is more competitive today than it ever has been, but still, they are good enough and we have top manager as well. I still believe we can turn it around this season.”
