Crystal Palace linked with move for Serie A forward

Crystal Palace are interested in signing striker Diego Falcinelli from Serie A side Sassuolo, according to reports.

The 25-year-old, who is currently on loan at fellow Serie A side Crotone, has scored nine goals in 29 league games this season and is one of the major reasons why Crotone still have a chance of staying in the top flight.

Sassuolo gave the Italian a contract extension which keeps on the books until 2020 but having made just 11 starts for them since arriving in 2009, it looks like may have just done that to protect his value.

Falcinelli has been loaned out numerous times already and unless Sassuolo plan to use him next season, the logical move for all parties involved would be a permanent transfer away, one that will allow him another shot at establishing a settled career for himself.

West Brom are also being linked with the forward, but as of yet, no official bids or enquiries have been made.
