Palace targets eyes summer move to England

Crystal Palace target Kara Mbodj has been talking up a possible summer move to the Premier League, as reported by SportWitness, who cite Belgian newsletter HLN.

Mbodj’s current club, Anderlecht rejected a €12 million offer for the defender from Palace during the January transfer window, when Sam Allardyce was trying to strengthen his squad upon his arrival.

The player has been handed the nickname ‘King Kara’ but the report suggests that the player is enjoying the tag a little too much, with the name going to his head following rumours linking him with a move to the Premier League.

Modji has not hidden his ambitions either, the defender believes this summer could be the right time in his career to make the move to the Premier League.

“England is one of my ambitions. In the past I have had the chance to go there, but then it did not happen. Maybe this summer though, we’ll see it succeed. It’s currently not a priority. The only thing that counts is a league title with Anderlecht.”

Mamadou Sakho has been in scintillating form this his arrival on loan from Liverpool during the January transfer window and if they fail to sign him permanently in the summer, Allardyce will be in the market for a central defender.
