Crystal Palace have opened talks with Chelsea over a move for Axel Disasi as they prepare for Maxence Lacroix’s expected departure.
Axel Disasi to Crystal Palace is at an early stage, but the Eagles have identified the 28-year-old as one of several possible replacements.
The Evening Standard reports that Chelsea would prefer a permanent sale and value Disasi at £25million plus add-ons. The clubs have yet to agree the structure of a deal, although Palace are now holding active negotiations.

Disasi spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham and has not returned for pre-season training under Xabi Alonso. Chelsea are working to find a new club for the France international, who joined them from Monaco in 2023.
West Ham retain an interest after his loan spell at the London Stadium. However, Disasi is not thought to want Championship football following their relegation, leaving Palace with a possible opportunity to keep him in the Premier League.
Palace’s need for another centre-back has become more pressing as Lacroix moves closer to Chelsea. ReadCrystalPalace reported that the clubs were finalising a £52million agreement for the defender, with the 26-year-old due to undergo a medical before signing a six-year contract.
Pierre Sage’s side are also considering Augsburg defender Chrislain Matsima. Palace have assessed several options throughout the summer and may need more than one addition depending on the final shape of their defence.
Disasi would bring Premier League and European experience. However, Chelsea’s asking price represents a significant commitment for a player outside Alonso’s plans. Palace must decide whether his qualities justify the valuation or whether another target offers better value.
