Frank de Boer started his reign at Crystal Palace with a loss in the Premier League as newly promoted Huddersfield Town thrashed the Eagles by 3 goals to nil.

Steve Mounie scored two goals for the visitors on his debut for the club, after signing from Montpellier for a reported £11.4m at the beginning of the transfer window.

Palace did very little to stop the riot with a couple of last-ditch tackles preventing the scoreline for being so much more of a deficit for the Eagles. Ruben-Loftus Cheek impressed for the Eagles with him without doubt picking up the man of the match award for the hosts.

The South London side travel to Liverpool next week in the Premier League and will have work hard to prevent another result like this. Here are the best images from Saturday’s defeat to Huddersfield:
