Crystal Palace interested in Origi move

Crystal Palace are interested in making a move for Liverpool striker Divock Origi, according to Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur.

The Reds forward is to be allowed to leave on loan for the season ahead, with first-team opportunities under Jurgen Klopp looking to be rather limited at this stage.

Origi has been unable to nail down a place in Klopp’s starting line-up ever since his arrival, and this has led to the consideration of a loan move this season.

Palace are seriously lacking depth up top and whilst Christian Benteke is the undisputed starter in attack, his compatriot Origi would undoubtedly provide more depth and choice for Frank de Boer.

The Eagles are looking to conclude some deals before the window slams shut on Thursday, and Origi appears to be a man on their agenda.

Liverpool are looking to offer Origi to Monaco on loan, though, as they look to land Thomas Lemar in a club-record deal.

Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in Origi, Terreur reports. However, Palace would need to secure Origi’s services on a permanent deal, given that they already have Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek signed on loan from Premier League sides.
