De Boer happy to have Sakho at his disposal
Crystal Palace manager Frank de Boer has expressed his delight at landing Mamadou Sakho.
The Palace boss discussed his new signing with the club’s official website, and admitted that he was ‘delighted’ to have secured the services of Sakho on a permanent basis.
I am delighted to have Mamadou here at the club, he was one of our targets in the window to sign for Crystal Palace. He has been here this week and is looking good and is already a very good influence in the dressing room and out on the training pitch.
Having been exiled by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, the French international was allowed to leave Anfield if the Reds’ asking price was met this summer. Palace did so on the final day of the transfer window, and Sakho completed his switch back to South London for a fee of £26 million.
We are seeing what an impact he is having with his positive attitude and therefore very pleased that he is here.
Sakho was a huge success during his first spell at Palace. He joined Sam Allardyce’s side at the end of January and was instrumental as they stayed up in the Premier League.
New Eagles boss De Boer will be hoping that the former PSG centre-back can have a similar effect on proceedings now. Palace have lost their first three games, and are sat in 19th place on the Premier League table.
Mamadou Sakho is not quite match fit but he is looking good and has worked very hard this week and could probably play 35 minutes for the Under 23 side on Monday.
