Hodgson reportedly lined up to replace De Boer
Crystal Palace have reportedly identified Roy Hodgson as their preferred option to replace Frank de Boer at the helm.
It’s claimed today by the Mirror that the Eagles are rapidly losing patience with De Boer, and that ex-England manager Hodgson is the favourite to take his place as Palace boss.
De Boer has endured a hugely difficult introduction to English football. Palace currently sit in 19th having failed to score a single goal, and having lost all four of their opening games.
Steve Parish is understood to have held lengthy discussions with De Boer over Palace’s concerning start to the 2017/18 Premier League campaign, with the chairman keen to see the Dutchman alter his tactical approach to suit the demands of the league.
De Boer’s men dominated in large parts against Burnley but only had themselves to blame as Chris Wood made them pay for individual errors.
Hodgson has been out of work since resigning from the England post at the end of June.
