Four Findings: Southampton (H)

Crystal Palace were below par yet again on Saturday afternoon as they slumped to their fourth consecutive defeat of the season against Southampton.

Roy Hodgson took charge of his first game at the helm of Palace, and was hoping to make a positive impression on the expectant Selhurst Park faithful, who are yet to see a goal from their side.

The former England manager’s reign got off to the worst start possible, though, with Steven Davis converting after just six minutes for the visitors.

It was a rather dull affair from then onwards, but two world class saves from Saints goalkeeper Fraser Forster denied Palace from equalising and taking the lead, handing the travelling side three points.

Hodgson will have learned a lot about his side in his first game with them, and we’ve taken a look at four findings from Palace’s defeat to Southampton.
