Wilfried Zaha has insisted that he is happy to be Crystal Palace’s talisman, as quoted by the Croydon Advertiser.
The Ivory Coast winger has made a huge impact since returning to the fold this season. Zaha hadn’t played since the opening day of the season until the game against Chelsea, and he has since helped Palace turn around their treacherous spell of form.
Yes I do at times feel the pressure from the stands and get nervous at times as maybe people expect too much from me, but I don’t mind that and I take it on and do what I have to do for the team.
Zaha netted the winner against Chelsea, and although he was unable to save his side from a defeat at Newcastle, he snatched a last gasp equaliser on Saturday against West Ham.

In my current position in the team, I know I don’t make the normal striker runs but it’s been a bit easier because it gives you a bit more of a free role and it allows me to pick the ball up deeper from the midfielders and take on the centre back and if I go past them it is just the goalkeeper and I have enjoyed it so far.
In the absence of Christian Benteke due to injury, Zaha has been forced to take up immense responsibility, and is evidently Palace’s main goal threat.
Roy Hodgson recently insisted that Palace must not become over-reliant on the tricky winger, but Zaha is clearly confident that he has what it takes to remain as the club’s main man as they bid for survival.
