Sky Sports claim that Palace have made their move for Amadou, as they look to bring in a central defender swiftly in the January transfer window.
Palace were not expecting to need a defender this month, but a long-term injury to Scott Dann has changed that. Dann could miss the rest of the season, and beyond, after suffering an injury against Manchester City last weekend.
Amadou has impressed in Ligue 1 this season for Lille and has been with the French side for two years, after joining the club from Nancy in 2015.
Since then, he has gone on to play over 70 Ligue 1 matches for Lille, scoring twice in that time.
There is no mention of whether £16m will be enough to tempt Lille into selling.
