Palace confident of completing £8m Hugill deal

Crystal Palace are confident of completing a £8m deal to sign Preston striker Jordan Hugill today, according to The Daily Mail.

Hugill was left out of Preston’s matchday squad on Tuesday night and is now expected to finalise a move to the Premier League.

The transfer window closes at 11pm tonight and Palace are looking to further strengthen their attacking options for the second half of the season.

Roy Hodgson wants to add another striker to his squad and sees Hugill as the ideal target.

The forward has scored ten goals for Preston in all competitions this season, with eight Championship strikes to his name.

Hugill scored 13 goals in 47 games for Preston last season, attracting interest from a number of clubs last summer.

The 25-year-old’s contract expires in 2020, which has caused Palace to come in with a large offer.

Christian Benteke has been misfiring for Palace this season, with Hugill potentially coming in to lighten the load on the Belgian.
