Academy Director Gary Issott suspended by Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have suspended Academy Director Gary Issott after he allegedly tried to get into the shower with members of the club’s Under-18 team.

As per a report in The Times, the club have suspended Issott whilst they conduct an internal investigation into his alleged inappropriate behaviour.

According to the report, another member of the Crystal Palace staff contacted the club’s Head of Safeguarding, Marcus Puddephatt, about Issott’s alleged conduct and he in turn passed the information onto the board of directors.

Palace, in an attempt to be as open and thorough as possible, have apparently interviewed every member of their under-18 squad, as well as their parents, about the issue. They’ve also contacted the FA and the Premier League to let them know about the alleged misconduct and the internal investigation which is taking place.
