Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has been forced to withdraw from Ivory Coast’s squad as a result of an injury, the Liverpool Echo reports.
The tricky winger has been sent home from international duty after being thoroughly assessed by his country’s medical staff and will be further examined by the Eagles now during the international break.
Zaha was forced off in Palace’s win against Huddersfield at the weekend but Roy Hodgson had indicated that it was only on a precautionary basis. However, after examinations from Ivory Coast’s staff, it seems the injury may be worse than what was first anticipated.

This news comes as a concern for Palace, who will face a hugely difficult clash with Liverpool on 31 March. Zaha has been a key player for the Eagles this season and they’ll be desperate to have him available for the run-in towards the end of the season.
News on the extent of Zaha’s injury is yet to be known, but Hodgson will be hoping that the wide man will be fit to face Liverpool at the end of the month.
