Crystal Palace are interested in a deal to bring Toulouse centre-back Issa Diop to the club this summer, according to French reports.
It’s claimed by L’Equipe, as translated by Sport Witness, that the Eagles have been closely following the defender’s progress at Toulouse in recent months as they prepare a summer swoop.
Diop has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s brightest talents, establishing himself as a key man for Toulouse. His consistency and impressive performances have attracted several clubs ahead of next season and Palace are seemingly keen.
The 21-year-old’s form also earned him the role as Toulouse’s captain; an impressive feat for a player of such tender age.
However, Roy Hodgson’s men may be forced to fend off competition from elsewhere. It’s stated in the report that Everton are also attentive to Diop’s situation at Toulouse.
Diop is sure to be hot property this summer and it comes as no surprise to see interest increasing in the youngster following his exceptional rise to prominence in France.
