Crystal Palace want to take Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea

Crystal Palace want to sign Tammy Abraham on loan from Chelsea, according to a report from Dominic Fifield of The Guardian.

Abraham spent last season on loan with Swansea City but is unlikely to re-join them for a second spell after they were relegated to the Championship.

The 20-year-old scored eight goals in 39 games for the Swans and his early performances in Wales earned him a call up to the England squad.

Palace’s issues in front of goal were well publicised as Cristian Benteke’s loss of form proved to be a huge blow for the Eagles. By the end of the season, Roy Hodgson was selecting two wingers – Andros Townsend and Wilfried Zaha – to lead the line as he searched for somebody to find the back of the net.

Palace had Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan last season and that deal worked out well for all parties involved so a temporary move for Abraham could well be on the cards too.
