Crystal Palace and Bournemouth have reportedly expressed an interest in signing Ollie Watkins from Brentford this summer.

According to claims from West London Sport, the Eagles have identified the Bees’ striker as a potential target ahead of next season, with Roy Hodgson keen to add to his squad.

Palace have made only one signing this summer, with Vicente Guaita arriving following a pre-contract agreement midway through last season.

The Eagles are out to strengthen their team but they have had no such luck yet, despite the summer transfer window slamming shut in under a month.

Watkins is a key player for Brentford and the Championship club are understood to be intent on retaining his services. However, the allure of Premier League football could be a tempting proposition for the player.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a solid season under Dean Smith at Griffin Park. He found the net on 10 occasions and has evidently caught the eye of Premier League clubs with his displays up top.
