Crystal Palace are in talks with Roma over a deal to sign Maxime Gonalons after making a €12 million offer for the player.
Calciomercato reports that Roma’s director of football Monchi is now discussing the deal with the Eagles.
The report claims that the Giallorossi could be open to selling the player, as it would allow them to pursue their own transfer targets, who include former Stoke midfielder Steven Nzonzi.
Gonalons only joined Roma last summer from Lyon, but he was forced to play something a bit-part role in Italy.

The 29-year-old only started 12 times in Serie A, something Palace could certainly offer an improvement on.
Palace are in the market for midfielders as they go in search of replacements for Yohan Cabaye and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with both players leaving the club over the summer.
Gonalons would arrive with a wealth of experience, having spent eight years at Lyon prior to his move to Rome.
