Crystal Palace have seen their first bid for West Ham midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate rejected, according to a report from Football London.
The Eagles held initial talks with the Hammers earlier on this week to discuss a potential deal for Kouyate, who is reportedly being allowed to leave the club this summer.
Palace are out to strengthen their midfield options following the departure of Yohan Cabaye this summer, along with the expiration of Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s loan deal at the club.

Kouyate has seemingly emerged as a genuine target for Roy Hodgson, with Football London reporting that Palace made a bid worth £11 million for the Senegalese international.
However, this opening offer has allegedly fallen short of the mark, with West Ham keen to receive at least £15 million from the sale of their powerful midfielder.
The 28-year-old, along with fellow midfielder Pedro Obiang, is one of several players whose position in the West Ham starting line-up is under threat as a new era under Manuel Pellegrini begins.
