Bettinelli rejected Palace move to stay at Fulham
England youth international Marcus Bettinelli rejected the chance to join Crystal Palace this summer, in favour of trying to keep his place at Fulham.
The Daily Mail reports that the decision may have backfired and he could be on the move before the end of the month.
Bettinelli was believed to have offers on the table from both Palace and West Ham but wanted to stay at Fulham following the promotion.
Even after playing a key role in Fulham’s promotion from the Championship, Bettinelli has gone from being the club’s first-choice to third-choice over the course of the summer.
The Whites completed deals to sign Sergio Rico on loan from Sevilla, while Fabri also joined from Besiktas.
Bettinelli was not named in Fulham’s squad to face Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season, with confusion mounting over the player’s place within the squad.
Wayne Hennessey kept his place in goal against Fulham on the opening day, while Vicente Guaita also joined the club this summer on a free transfer.
