Palace send scouts to observe Porto’s win over Tondela

Crystal Palace reportedly sent scouts to observe FC Porto’s recent 1-0 win against Tondela.

The Eagles appear to have identified potential targets in the top-flight of Portuguese football, with A Bola, as cited in a report from Football London, indicating that representatives from the club were in attendance for the fixture.

Palace are known to extensively scout top European leagues and it seems they had their eyes fixed firmly on the outing between Porto and Tondela, in which a goal from Francisco Soares proved decisive for the hosts.

Although the report does not specify just who the South London club’s officials were casting a keen eye over, one player who has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent times is Hector Herrera.

The Mexican international’s contract expires at the end of the season and Arsenal have been linked. Watford, who are long-term admirers of the midfielder, also had scouts watching the match, perhaps in an attempt to assess Herrera further.

Top clubs from across Europe were also reported to have been in attendance, with A Bola indicating that both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur sent scouts to observe the tightly-contested fixture on Friday night.
