Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has insisted that his side have made things a lot more difficult for themselves after losing at home to Wolves on Saturday, according to a report on the Evening Standard.

The Eagles had plenty of chances to score at Selhurst Park but were once again denied by poor finishing and brilliant goalkeeping by Rui Patricio.

Hodgson is concerned about the lack of goals scored by his side and he knows that their battle to survive relegation has just got even tougher.

He said:

We knew this season was going to be a fight and the fight continues. We have not made that fight easier for ourselves by losing at home to teams that we think should be around us in the table.

You can argue that we have not done well against the ones around us, maybe we will do better against the ones at the top.

Palace now face some extremely difficult fixtures against Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Manchester United and it is difficult to see the Eagles getting some points out of them matches.

Winning Wolves would have given them some sort of momentum but they are now without a win in three Premier League matches.
