Palace eyeing move for Arsenal’s Welbeck
Crystal Palace are considering a move for Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck in the summer transfer window, according to a report on the Mirror.
The Englishman is out until the end of the season with an injury which he suffered in a Europa League encounter with Sporting Lisbon earlier this season.
His contract also expires at the end of the season, meaning that he will be available to sign for free.
Palace manager Roy Hodgson is a keen admirer of Welbeck and if the striker can prove his fitness, then the Eagles may take the opportunity to sign him.
The club currently has Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on loan until the end of the campaign but Hodgson wants a new striker on a permanent basis.
Welbeck is a proven goalscorer but has always been hindered by injuries, but if he can remain fit and healthy after his recovery from injury is over, then he could prove to be an ideal signing for the club.
