Crystal Palace star Luka Milivojevic does not want his side to match up against Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The midfielder wore the captain’s armband and led his team to victory in the fifth round on Sunday afternoon.

Palace defeated Doncaster Rovers 2-0 at the Keepmoat Stadium and advanced to the final eight of the competition courtesy of goals from Jeffrey Schlupp and Max Meyer.

This win came after they had progressed beyond Grimsby Town and Tottenham Hotspur at home in the two preceding rounds.

Milivojevic spoke to Crystal Palace’s official website after helping his side to the quarter-final stage but admitted that he is reluctant to come up against Premier League leaders City next.

As quoted by BT Sport, the Serbian international said:

Our aim in the FA Cup is to try and get to the semi-final and then the final. It won’t be easy, there are a lot of good teams to play against.

We don’t fear anyone of course but there is one team that you don’t want – Man City. But you never know. What happens in the draw will happen and we’re looking forward to the cup, of course.

If we can repeat something of what we did a few years ago and play in a final, [that] would be great, but let’s go step by step.

Pep Guardiola’s men have been in fine form in the FA Cup. They defeated Rotherham 7-0 before putting Burnley to the sword with a 5-0 win in the fourth round.

On Saturday evening, City travelled to Newport County and won 4-1, helping them into the quarter-finals.
