Wilfried Zaha delighted with goalscoring form

After scoring Crystal Palace’s third in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Burnley – a third victory in the last four away games – Wilfried Zaha has said he’s solely focusing on scoring goals to help the Eagles continue to climb the Premier League table.

The Turf Moor triumph came a week after Roy Hodgson’s side beat Leicester City 4-1 at the King Power Stadium, where Zaha once again contributed with two goals.

Reflecting on his well-worked strike that made it 3-0 to Palace on Saturday, Zaha expressed his delight at consistently getting on the scoresheet the Crystal Palace website.

To be honest, I score goals like that all the time in training when we play five-a-side, so it’s nice to finally get a goal like that in a game! I was thinking, ‘okay, I can’t chop any more times’, so I just made sure I connected with the ball properly and I’m just happy I scored really. All I’m trying to focus on is scoring goals so I’m buzzing [to have scored so many]. Whether it’s home or away, I’m just buzzing to be on the scoresheet.

The Ivorian winger is now on eight Premier League goals for the season and has already matched the five-goal target he set himself to achieve between the Southampton draw at the end of January and the end of the season.

Palace are now all-but clear from any danger of relegation, eight points off the bottom three and now potentially just one win away from entering the top half of the table.
