Crystal Palace keen on Rafael Santos Borre
Crystal Palace are reportedly pursuing a deal for River Plate striker Rafael Santos Borre.
As translated in a report from Sport Witness, Marca Claro have covered indications from ESPN that the Eagles have opened talks with the player’s entourage ahead of a possible summer move.
Santos Borre appears to have caught the eye of Palace’s scouts in Argentina this season. From 17 Primera Division outings, he has found the back of the net on four occasions and contributed with a further two assists.
River Plate had initially owned only a percentage of the 23-year-old’s registration, but have since moved to secure his services completely for a fee worth €7 million.
The Colombian forward is held in high esteem by his club, and it is reported that they have moved swiftly to include a €30 million release clause in his contract at River Plate.
Crystal Palace are understood to have held discussions with the player’s representatives to negotiate the possibility of a move soon, but the outcome of these talks is not yet known.
