Crystal Palace make bid for Timothy Castagne

Crystal Palace have made a €20 million bid for Timothy Castagne, according to Sportitalia, via Tribal Football.

The Eagles are looking to sign a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who recently joined Manchester United.

Former Crystal Palace man Nathaniel Clyne has been linked with filling the void at right-back, but strong interest in Castagne has also emerged.

The Atalanta defender is reportedly allowed to leave the Serie A club, but they want an extra €5 million for his services.

Castagne is also believed to be slightly reluctant about leaving, however, due to Atalanta qualifying for this season’s Champions League.

The lure of playing in the Premier League could be too much, though, with the 23-year-old seeing it as a lifelong ambition.

Castagne has been at Atalanta since 2017, having made the move from Genk.

He also has five caps to his name for Belgium, making his debut against Scotland last September.
