Wilfried Zaha has told Crystal Palace that he wants a transfer to Arsenal after returning from the African Cup of Nations. as per Kaveh Solhekol of Sky Sports.

Arsenal made an offer of £40m for the former Manchester United winger earlier this summer but the Eagles rejected that almost immediately.

However, the Gunners are keen to complete a deal for the Ivory Coast international and are expected to make a new bid for him before the end of the week.

Solhekol reports that Zaha is Arsenal’s number one target at that manager Unai Emery has wanted to sign him ever since Palace pretty much ended the Gunners’ Champions League hopes by beating them 3-2 back in April.

Palace have no pressing need to sell Zaha and as such, they can command a high fee for him but it remains to be seen at what price, if any, they’d be willing to allow their star player to leave Selhurst Park.

Zaha came through the ranks at Palace but left for a brief spell at Man United in 2013. He returned on loan in 2014 and made the permanent switch back to the Eagles a year later.
