Chelsea reject Crystal Palace’s bid for Reece James

Chelsea have rejected a £20m bid from Crystal Palace for talented youngster Reece James according to a report in The Mirror, as cited by HITC.

Crystal Palace are in the market for a new right-back having sold Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United and it looks like James is the player they have identified to bring in.

James spent the 2018/19 season out on loan with Wigan Athletic in the Championship and he caught the eye of plenty of observers with his performances, both as a right-back and as a central midfielder

James is unlikely to be a regular first-team player at Chelsea but he could still have a role to play for Frank Lampard’s side and as such, they’ve decided to reject Palace’s offer.

Chelsea are unwilling to let James leave as they would be unable to replace him due to the current transfer ban imposed upon their club for the next two windows.
