Palace fans react as Sorloth’s permanent exit edges closer
Alexander Sorloth appears to be nearing a permanent move away from Crystal Palace after an impressive start to life on loan at Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor, and fans are questioning why he was under-utilised in SE25.
Sorloth joined Palace for £9million from Midtjylland in January 2018, but has since only made 20 appearances for the Eagles, scoring once.
He spent last season on loan in Belgium with Gent, scoring five goals in 22 games, but has two goals in as many games so far for Trabzonspor.
Club president Ahmet Agaoglu, speaking to Turkish outlet Sabah, has explained that if he continues to play as he’s doing, the €6million needed to make his €750,000 two-year loan move permanently will seem like nothing.
The Norwegian striker has certainly made an impact in Turkey, and fans are clearly regretting the decision to let him leave of Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham.

Sorloth, 23, obviously isn’t in Roy Hodgson’s plans if he’s been sent on a two-year loan, but he hasn’t really had a great chance to impress during his time at Selhurst Park.
If he plays over 50% of Trabzonspor’s games next season, the club will have the option of signing him for €6m, inflicting around a £3million loss for Palace for a player who could make a bigger impact than Benteke and Wickham.
It seems Hodgson is relying on Jordan Ayew and Wilfried Zaha for goals this term, but if the latter leaves there could be serious problems over the horizon.
