Crystal Palace are looking all set to start life under new manager Pierre Sage. They are preparing to take on Swindon Town tomorrow in their first pre-season friendly.
The Eagles’ success under Oliver Glasner during the previous campaigns has certainly increased the expectations at Selhurst Park by a country mile. The fans now demand continuity while moving into the new era.
Alongside bringing in Oscar Mingueza on a free transfer and binding Daichi Kamada to a new contract, Palace have also confirmed Jamal Alioui as Sage’s assistant going into the new season.
Crystal Palace reveals new home kit for 2026-27 season
Now, the Eagles have just confirmed the return of the famous sash on their jersey and will celebrate 50 years of the famous mark, as they officially revealed their home kit for the 2026-27 campaign.
The new home shirt also showcases Palace’s new front-of-shirt sponsor, Temporal, who recently joined hands with the Eagles on a multi-year agreement.
Crystal Palace celebrate 50 years of the ‘sash’
The ‘sash’ has been a crucial part of some of Palace’s most iconic kits since the 1975-76 campaign. It has been a defining feature for the south London side.
This time they have put the red and blue diagonal on their white home kit, which seemingly marked the mid 80’s for the Eagles and then went on to make some further appearances down the years.
The visuals of the new kit has certainly excited the fans before Palace’s first game of the pre-season. Although, the club will certainly need to step up their activity in the transfer window if they are to carry on with their newly built winning culture into the new season.
Crystal Palace are already concerned with the probable exits of some of their top stars from the previous campaign, as the likes of Maxence Lacroix, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Adam Wharton are being extensively linked with an exit from Selhurst Park since the last few weeks.
Summer transfer window and plans for the new season
Mingueza remains Crystal Palace’s only addition so far into the summer transfer window as they carry on with their preparations for the new season.
Crystal Palace had been really outstanding in cup competitions under former manager Glasner and will look to make their mark in the Europa League this season, alongside the FA and the League Cup.
Although, the fans will be hopeful of at least a top 10 finish in the Premier League this time around, given Sage’s brilliant run with RC Lens in the Ligue 1 last season.
The new shirt certainly showcases Palace’s rich history but if they are to add to success of the famous ‘sash’ on their shirt, the Eagles might need to add a few more quality players to put it on.
