Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has revealed that he has “no idea” what Tottenham Hotspur are planning to do with Kyle Walker-Peters, as reported on Football London.

The Eagles have been closely linked with a move for the right-back this month and Hodgson also confirmed at his pre-Manchester City press conference that contact has been made with the north London club.

He said:

Initial contact was made.

It would have been a good move for us, but I have no idea what Tottenham’s intentions are, or what they are thinking about it.

As reported on the Daily Echo, Premier League rivals Southampton are also interested in the Englishman.

The 22-year-old has only made three Premier League appearances for Spurs so far this season and with the injury problems that the Eagles have at the moment, we feel that a short-term transfer makes sense for all those involved.

This is because the defender is likely to get more first-team minutes, which helps Spurs because it boosts his confidence and helps Palace because he will provide good injury cover.

However, as Tottenham’s intentions are still not clear, the transfer can’t really progress, which I feel is slightly disappointing because the deadline is fast approaching.

Do you want Walker-Peters to join Palace?
