Crystal Palace Women winger Molly-Mae Sharpe has secured her future in South London after her fifth incredible season at the club.

The 28-year-old has signed a new contract until the summer of 2028, following the expiration of her previous contract.

The winger joined the Eagles in July 2021 from Durham and has remained an integral part of the South London side.

She told CPFC: “I am over the moon to be extending my stay at the club I call home.

“The club is very special to me, and I am grateful every time I put on the shirt.”

Sharpe’s Success in Red and Blue

This season Sharpe marked the record of 100 appearances in Red and Blue, and holds the most appearances for any Palace Women’s player in the professional era.

Playing on the right-wing her form has remained consistent during her time in South London, with 5 goals and 3 assists in the WSL2 this season.

Earlier this year she was awarded the January Palace player of the month following a brace against her former side Durham.

Speaking to CPFC Jo Potter said: “We are thrilled to have Molly sign a new deal.

“Her form and her consistency were crucial to our promotion this season, and her experience will be invaluable as we take on the WSL.”

WSL Season in Full Focus

With the future of many core players still uncertain, securing Sharpe for the WSL campaign is a great success for the Eagles.

Sharpe spoke earlier this year on the intensity of the top-flight: “The standard in the WSL now is crazy and there’s some unbelievable, world-class players.

“When you get to that level, staying there takes hard work every single week and you need to get points out of the big clubs sometimes and that’s something that we failed to do last year, unfortunately.”

A great opportunity awaits in the WSL and the experience of players like Sharpe is what can ensure the team can persevere against tough competition.
