- Crystal Palace should revive interest in Everton star
- Iliman Ndiaye is in demand
- Senegalese’s versatility could help Pierre Sage
Crystal Palace should capitalise on Everton being punished for breaching PSR and paying compensation to Burnley. The Toffees have been ordered to pay the Clarets £35m in damages, a record sum for such breaches.
For the Merseyside outfit, this is a huge amount of money, especially after recently moving to Hill Dickinson Stadium. Losing their legal battle has hit them financially and will only further raise doubts over Iliman Ndiaye’s future.
The Senegalese winger is a wanted man and has been linked with Manchester United and Manchester City. He had been on Palace’s radar before opting to move to Goodison Park in July 2024.
Ndiaye’s uncertain future
Ndiaye joined Everton from Marseille in an €18m deal, opting to join the Toffees over Palace. The Eagles reportedly wanted to sign the attacking gem at the time and made him their top target, per SunSport.
The former Sheffield United star has impressed since making the move. He was a standout performer under David Moyes this season, registering six goals and three assists in 34 games across competitions.
Palace aren’t thought to be focusing too much on the winger market. But the Senegal international would certainly be an ambitious signing whose versatility would help incoming manager Pierre Sage.
Perfect for Palace
Yeremy Pino has started to prove his worth after arriving from Villarreal last summer. But Evann Guessand had been competing with the Spaniard for a starting berth on the left-wing.
Guessand spent the second half of the season on loan from Aston Villa. There is no guarantee that the club will opt to sign the Ivorian permanently.
If Palace want to hand Sage a marquee attacking signing to kickstart his reign, Ndiaye fits the bill. He can play on both wings and in attacking midfield.
Ndiaye also has proven Premier League experience, and with a Europa League campaign on the horizon, could be an unbelievable addition to the squad. But interest from United and City is an issue, and the Toffees are in a strong position due to him having three years left on his contract.
