Crystal Palace have been handed a clear transfer-market prompt after fresh claims around Folarin Balogun‘s Monaco future.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Balogun is expected to leave Monaco this summer despite being contracted until 2028, with Premier League and European interest building during his World Cup surge. Stars and Stripes FC have now listed Crystal Palace among the clubs who should be looking seriously at the United States forward.
The logic is obvious. Balogun scored twice in the USA’s 4-1 win over Paraguay, a performance also covered by Concacaf, and his profile has spiked at exactly the point Palace are assessing attacking options for Pierre Sage’s first full window.

Why Balogun Would Test Palace’s Ambition
Palace already have Chris Richards inside the USMNT environment and Eddie Nketiah knows Balogun from Arsenal, giving any approach a human connection as well as a football one.
The harder question is valuation. Reports around Monaco’s stance point towards a fee in the region of €50 million, which would represent a major Selhurst Park investment.
Palace’s recent European qualification changes the pitch, though. A fast, mobile No.9 with World Cup momentum would give Sage a different attacking route and add another elite-age asset to a squad already built around Adam Wharton, Maxence Lacroix and Daniel Munoz.
For now, this is one to monitor rather than a formal Palace move. But Balogun’s situation has become too loud for the Eagles to ignore.
