Crystal Palace have produced some brilliant academy talents during the recent years. Players like George King, Dean Benamar, Joel Drakes-Thomas made their senior debuts during the previous campaign.
Palace now might look to send their teenage trio out on loan moves in order to provide them some well deserved minutes as they did with Joe Witworth and Hindolo Mustapha during the previous season.
Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is another player who has now completed four separate loan moves away from Selhurst Park since graduating from their academy. And for him, it might be time for a permanent move away from Selhurst Park altogether. There is an update on the winger’s future.
Crystal Palace decision on Jesurun Rak-Sakyi’s future
According to the Daily Mail, Rak-Sakyi is likely to leave this summer. The winger is prioritising a move to a top-flight club, with a move to Europe the likeliest outcome.
Rak-Sakyi scored seven goals in the 2025-26 season combined for Rizespor and Stoke City across all competitions. The numbers are seemingly not that bad for a 23-year-old winger, but as it seems, Crystal Palace are not satisfied with their academy graduate’s progress so far.
The Ghanaian international is currently under contract with the club till the summer of 2027. As a result, the south London side are now looking to find him a permanent home now rather than lose him for free a year down the line.
Palace are unlikely to get the £15 million transfer fee which they wanted in the past. It is believed that the winger’s valuation has dropped, with merely a year left on his contract.
Can Rak-Sakyi get back to his best?
Recently, West Bromwich Albion have been linked with a move for Rak-Sakyi, as the winger looks to fit well in their transfer plans this summer, as the winger could be available for a reasonable fee during the upcoming months.
Certainly, the 23-year-old has got the ability to lift up his career. During his first season on loan at Charlton Athletic back in the 2022-23 campaign, he scored 15 goals and provided 9 assists in all competitions.
But unfortunately for Rak-Sakyi, he failed to recreate that same form during the subsequent loan moves to Sheffield United, Rizespor and Stoke City.
As a result. Palace seem to believe this is the right time to part ways with Sakyi and take their chances on some of their other academy players, who might have a better chance to become first-team starters someday.
According to reports, the player is looking to play top-flight football, which could mean that a move away from England might be on the cards. Previously, there was interest from Scottish Premiership giants Celtic and Rangers, but the Glasgow sides failed to reach an agreement with Palace and the move never happened. But this time around, the Eagles look more determined to find a permanent home for the 23-year-old winger.
