Crystal Palace Women have confirmed that Ashleigh Weerden has signed a new contract running until June 2028.
The attacker played a central role in Palace’s immediate return to the Women’s Super League last season.
Weerden registered 10 assists in WSL2, setting a new competition record. She also finished the campaign with 17 goal contributions, more than any other player in the division.
Her performances earned her a place in the WSL2 Team of the Season after she helped Jo Potter’s side secure promotion at the first attempt.
Palace confirmed the agreement through an official club announcement.
Weerden deal strengthens Palace before WSL return
Weerden joined Palace in August 2024 and was named both the Players’ Player and Fans’ Player of the Season during her debut campaign.
She maintained that influence following relegation and became one of the most productive attackers in WSL2.
ReadCrystalPalace previously highlighted how Weerden’s record-breaking season underlined her importance to the promotion campaign.
Manager Jo Potter described the Netherlands international as crucial to Palace’s success and one of the best players in the division.
Weerden said she feels comfortable and confident at the club, adding that she is excited about returning to the WSL.
Keeping the 27-year-old provides Palace with continuity before another demanding top-flight campaign.
Her creativity, direct running and established relationship with Potter’s squad should give the Eagles a reliable attacking outlet.
Palace will still need further reinforcements to compete consistently in the WSL. Securing Weerden until 2028, though, protects one of their most valuable players and rewards her contribution to the promotion-winning season.
