Crystal Palace interest in André Luiz has moved beyond background checks after the Eagles sent a representative to watch the Corinthians midfielder.

Palace observed the 20-year-old during Thursday’s 3-0 victory over Remo at the Neo Química Arena.

André rewarded the scouting mission with an impressive performance. He supplied a precise pass for Yuri Alberto to open the scoring before Corinthians completed a comfortable Brasileiro victory.

Juventus and AC Milan have also monitored the Brazilian, although Corinthians have not received a formal offer from any interested club.

Crystal Palace interest in André Luiz grows after scouting mission

According to BolaVIP, citing ESPN Brazil, Palace sent a scout specifically to assess André against Remo.

The midfielder is valued at €18million, with another €4million potentially due through bonuses. That package would give the buying club 80 per cent of his economic rights.

André currently owns 30 per cent of those rights, while Corinthians control the remaining 70 per cent. He would reportedly return 10 per cent to the club as part of a transfer and retain a 20 per cent stake.

The academy graduate primarily operates as a defensive midfielder. He is comfortable receiving under pressure, setting the tempo and moving possession through midfield.

Pierre Sage is assessing several options in that area. David Ozoh impressed during Palace’s recent defeat at Bromley, while Cheick Doucouré still appeared short of rhythm following his injury absence, as highlighted in ReadCrystalPalace’s player ratings.

Crystal Palace interest in André Luiz remains at the scouting stage. Corinthians hold a strong negotiating position because his contract runs until December 2029 and includes a €100million release clause.
