Ismaila Sarr Latest: Palace Demand Big-Money Fee as Suitors Circle Star Winger

Crystal Palace are taking a firm stance in the transfer market, making it abundantly clear that any suitors for Ismaila Sarr will need to pay well north of £50 million before the south London club even considers sitting down at the negotiating table.

While Galatasaray continue their vocal pursuit from Istanbul and Manchester United keep a watchful eye on developments, the clear message emanating from Selhurst Park is that the London side have no desire to sell the 28-year-old Senegal international in the final stretch of the summer window.

Personal terms agreed, but clubs remain worlds apart

Galatasaray have already made significant headway on the player’s side, securing agreement on proposed personal terms with Sarr’s representatives.

However, agreeing on contract terms is proving to be the straightforward part of a far more complex negotiation. Intermediaries had initially indicated to Galatasaray that an offer around £30 million might test Palace’s resolve. Palace’s executive level has swiftly shut that down, viewing that figure as completely detached from their internal assessment of the player.

The south Londoners want in excess of £50 million a figure that would make Sarr the second-most expensive signing in Turkish football history, behind only Victor Osimhen. It is a benchmark Galatasaray are currently unable to reach.

Meanwhile, Manchester United retain a long-standing interest in Sarr, having monitored his profile throughout the summer, though Old Trafford chiefs recognise Palace’s firm price tag presents a major obstacle to any late approach.

Injury absence amidst transfer speculation

Sarr missed Palace’s opening-day Premier League defeat at Everton and has been absent from a notable portion of first-team training sessions at Copers Cope Road this week.

While his absence inevitably fuelled rumours given the interest abroad, senior Palace sources insist Sarr is nursing a genuine injury and that his lack of involvement is entirely physical rather than transfer-related.

Despite this, Sarr remains open to the prospect of a move to Turkey if a deal can be struck between the two clubs. Galatasaray are actively attempting to unlock negotiations, though Palace’s position remains uncompromising.

A tale of two Sarrs

Galatasaray’s search for Premier League reinforcements isn’t limited to south London. The Turkish outfit are simultaneously working on a deal for Tottenham midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, who has been told he can leave the north London club.

Much like his namesake at Palace, Pape Matar Sarr has already agreed personal terms with Galatasaray. However, with Tottenham taking a far more flexible approach to a potential departure, that deal is currently viewed across the market as a far more achievable avenue for Galatasaray than prying Ismaila Sarr away from Selhurst Park.
