Jo Potter Previews Crystal Palace Women vs Spurs

Crystal Palace Women manager Jo Potter brings a fully fit group into her team’s preparations ahead of this weekend’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking to the media, the boss confirmed that no fresh fitness concerns emerged from last weekend, leaving the squad completely healthy and ready for action.

Returning to Selhurst Park brings a distinct buzz to the dressing room. Potter highlighted how much the fixture means to everyone involved, noting:

“No fresh injuries. We’ll hopefully have a full squad ready to go for Sunday. It’s great to be back at Selhurst. The players have got some great memories there… It’s a good chance to get back there early in the season and hopefully put on a good performance.”

Keeping Feet on the Ground After a Strong Start

Life in the Barclays Women’s Super League has started brightly for the Eagles. Palace kicked off their campaign with a brilliant 1-0 victory over Everton before securing a hard-fought, resolute 0-0 draw away at Arsenal.

Despite a positive opening fortnight, Potter insists that nobody inside the camp is getting carried away. Drawing on past experiences, the manager stressed the importance of remaining level-headed through the highs and lows of a brutal division:

“The players are an honest bunch. We know what this league’s all about and we know it can change very quickly. We know that we didn’t have the best of starts to our league campaign last year, and it ended very differently. We’ve got that lived experiences of how quickly things can change. We know that this league’s ruthless and that it can change very quickly. We’re keeping our feet on the ground, we don’t get too high and we don’t get too low in those moments.”

Tactical Adaptability and Threat at Both Ends

Palace have already demonstrated two distinct identities in their opening matches showcasing attacking fluency against Everton before putting on a defensive masterclass to shut out Arsenal.

Potter emphasises that tactical flexibility remains central to her long-term vision. Stating that predictability is the enemy of success, the manager explained how squad depth allows her side to switch gears depending on the opponent:

“I mentioned before the season started that we needed to be adaptable and show different sides to our game. We definitely feel we’ve got the squad to do that. We’ve got threats at both ends of the pitch and managed to strengthen in those areas. We want to be a team that can play different ways. I don’t think there’s just one way to win a football game… If you play the same way every week, you can be found out quite easily.”

Looking Ahead: Building Momentum

With a clean bill of health, an unbeaten start to the 2026/27 WSL season, and the backing of a home crowd at Selhurst Park, the stage is perfectly primed for Jo Potter’s side. If the Eagles can maintain their defensive steel while unleashing their attacking threats against Spurs, the supporters are in for another memorable afternoon in south London.
